Band Biography

“The Daniel Keiser Band is a contemporary folk group that blends rock and blues with a team of experienced and creative musicians. With melodic lyrics and compelling storytelling, their music creates a deep and soulful experience for listeners. The band’s distinctive sound is built on Daniel Keiser’s diverse background in classical, bluegrass, and rock styles. A highly versatile musician, Susan Salmon contributes an original sound with her violin and mandolin while also adding a rock edge with her Stratocaster. Bob Naumchik’s expert percussion rounds out the sound, and the band often features special guests. They have previously opened for 14-time Grammy winner Dan Tyminski and have twice performed to a sold-out audience at The Lizzie Rose. The band is set to release its third album in early 2026.”

Individual Band Members Biographies

Daniel Keiser (Guitarist, Songwriter)

Daniel is the band’s founder and creative heart. A guitarist and songwriter who started playing at age nine, he has an extensive background, including studies in classical and fingerstyle guitar. Daniel has served as a Music Director, played for numerous gigs and festivals, and had his guitar playing featured in TV commercials. He also performed for the New York Yankees Banquet at the Marriot Hotel in Times Square and for Yogi Berra’s birthday party, both with Tony Pasqua, an event recognized in Yogi’s biography by Allan Bara. The band was born from Daniel’s vision to unite the most talented musicians he could find for a truly unique sound.

Susan Salmon (Violin, Mandolin, Guitar)

Described by Daniel as the best musician he’s met in 50 years of playing, Susan is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. She started with piano at three, mandolin at seven, and sang professionally at sixteen. She is classically trained, playing violin in the first section of an orchestra, and has experience touring the world on USO tours, festivals, resorts, and casinos. Her ability to blend her mandolin and violin with Daniel’s Folk/Americana style, while bringing a rock edge with her electric guitar, is a defining feature of the band’s sound. Susan also tours with the popular Heart Tribute Band, Kick It Out.

Bob Naumchik (Drums & Percussion)

A true student of percussion since age 12, Bob brings a wide range of styles, from intricate Jazz/Fusion beats to Rock and Folk. In the band, he often focuses on non-traditional percussion, utilizing the cajon, congas, chimes, shakers, and tambourine to fit the mood of each song. Bob has played with hundreds of musicians, performs with a well-renowned Grateful Dead tribute band, and was a long-time member of the Jazz instrumental band, Denison Pine.
